When you see a pair of numbers in describing Binoculars, the first number describes the magnification, the second numbers is the milimeter opening of the objective, light gathering, end. IF there are 3 numbers the first 2 are zoom, or power, range. |

These binoculars are indeed very high quality and have great image resolution up close and very far away. However they are NOT 50 power magnification as advertised. The best I can tell they are 12 power. Bit I couldn't be more pleased with the clearity and brightness of the images. |
